Waiting for Its History to Begin is a work I assemble from ordinary found objects. The juxtaposition of these abandoned objects against a painted surface creates a dramatic composition that invites viewers to observe and reflect. I titled it “Waiting for History to Begin” is to emphasize the open-ended nature of its meaning, leaving its interpretation to the viewers and their reactions.
This piece draws inspiration from the great American artist Robert Rauschenberg and pays tribute to his significant contributions to the history and future of contemporary art. Rauschenberg’s pioneering work in integrating everyday objects into art resonates deeply with the principles of Dadaism, which sought to challenge traditional notions of art through the use of unconventional materials and techniques. In line with the Dada movement’s spirit, my work embraces chance, spontaneity, and the subversion of established artistic conventions, encouraging a fresh perspective on the ordinary and the overlooked.
