Tayyab Tariq innovative approach marks a revolutionary change and a paradigm shift, signifying a significant evolution in Pakistani Truck Art thought and practice.Truck Art is a form of Pakistani folk art. In Pakistan Truck owners love to decorate their vehicles with beautiful colors; some even make it very artistic & featuring floral designs, peacock designs and so on. This art form is immensely popular throughout Pakistan and has many meanings. Tayyab’s solo exhibition at Shahi Hammam (16th century Royal Bath House) showcased six paintings that creatively transfer truck art ready-made articles from vehicles to his canvas.

Presenting the significance of Shahi Hammam and the series of Truck Art Paintings, ASP Traugutta, 2020

Explaining the significance of Shahi Hammam and the series of Truck Art Paintings, ASP Traugutta, 2020 following his method of “deconstruction and reconstruction,” he describes his truck art series using the same approach as his previous works. In his introductory talk at the Academy of Art in Poland, he explains, “I follow the only function an object holds already; my role is to elaborate a dispute in its form and function.” This technique of transformation is consistent across his other solo series, such as “Contrapposto” and the new series “Functional Deconstruction & Alteration.”
